Champion Generator Noise Test – New genny for our travel trailer

Champion Generator Noise Test – New genny for our travel trailer

I do a quick test of the new generator’s noise level. While it is pretty quiet in economy mode, in order to run the air conditioner the noise level goes up quite a bit.

Congrats Robert and that Champion Gen is awesome! Enjoy!

Lou Mcnabb says:

Thanks Robert, great info.

Wael says:

Looks good Robert. Can you get a smaller size with same ability ?

Andrew Ivanov says:

Try getting a longer extension cord (10 gauge minimum) and placing the generator about 50 ft from the trailer with the exhaust facing away. This helps to reduce the noise heard from the generator. I also had good luck placing a piece of plywood leaning against the generator to block some noise. This helped some too.

We love your videos!

BTW, if you happen to be in the Upstate SC, near Rock Hill (just south of Charlotte), you are welcome to park for a few days in our front or back yard. We will have a garden hose for water and a 20A electrical extension cord if you need it. We live out on the country on 2 acres. It's relatively quiet here. My e-mail is andre_biker at

Johnny C says:

Robert how do you plan on carrying it on a trip? Inside your trailer or are you going to put a rack on the back of the trailer. It is a big generator in size,I just put a rack on the back of mine and put a lock on it.

s. johnson says:

do you think a comparable propane generator would be less noisy? I"ve heard they are but don't know if it's true.

Alan Taylor says:

I enjoy your videos, Robert. I'd be curious what the sound levels are like when the generator is running and you are inside the camper.

saverio occhipinti says:

Will that fit in the basement of mini Tini? Just curious as to where you will store it when traveling
